Terms and conditions
Last updated:
These terms apply when you have a MyHalfs account and when you order something from us, such as a digital finisher poster. We have kept them as short and clear as we can. Questions? Email us at [CONTACT-EMAIL].
1. Who we are
MyHalfs (myhalfs.com and myhalfs.nl) is a trade name of [HANDELSNAAM], [RECHTSVORM], established at [ADRES], registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number [KVK-NUMMER], VAT number [BTW-NUMMER]. You can reach us at [CONTACT-EMAIL] or by phone on [TELEFOONNUMMER]. To verify (V12): a phone number is probably mandatory (to be confirmed): which number, and which address goes here?
By we, us or MyHalfs we mean this business. By you we mean you as a user of the platform or as a consumer who orders from us.
2. When these terms apply
These terms apply to the use of your MyHalfs account, to every offer from MyHalfs and to every order you place on our website, including orders placed without an account. You can read, save and print them on this page. We point you to them before you complete an order.
Your statutory rights as a consumer always apply. If anything here deviates from them to your disadvantage, the law prevails.
3. Your account
With an account you keep your passport: you record the half marathons you have run as stamps, follow your progress on challenges and see your orders. An account is free. You do not need an account to place an order.
- You sign in with a link we send to your email address (magic link). There is no password. Make sure only you have access to that email address; we attribute what happens through your account to you.
- An account is personal: one account per person, and only for your own races.
- Your profile is private by default. You decide whether your profile or passport is publicly visible. Your profile photo can, however, be reached by anyone who has its direct link.
- If you first order without an account and later sign in with the same email address, we link your earlier orders and designs to your account.
- You can delete your account yourself in your account settings. If you have an order we still need to deliver, you can do so once it has been delivered. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy.
- To verify (V11): minimum age for an account, for example 16
4. What you add yourself
On MyHalfs you can add content yourself, such as:
- stamps in your passport, with your finish time and bib number;
- proof for a stamp, such as a photo or screenshot of your result or finisher certificate;
- race suggestions for races that are not yet on MyHalfs;
- your profile, such as your username, what you write about yourself, your country and your profile photo.
You remain the owner of what you add. You do give us permission to store, review and display it to the extent needed to make MyHalfs work. We only display it publicly if you have turned that on yourself. Factual details from a race suggestion (such as the name, date and website of a race) may be added to and kept in our race calendar, even if you later delete your account.
Stamps and challenges on MyHalfs are not official results and do not entitle you to prizes or recognition by the organisers of a race.
5. What is not allowed
Use MyHalfs fairly and with respect for others. You may not:
- submit stamps, times or proof that are not accurate, or claim someone else’s races as your own;
- post content that is unlawful, such as content that infringes copyright or image rights, or personal data of others without their consent;
- post content that is offensive, discriminatory, threatening or sexually explicit;
- pretend to be someone else, or MyHalfs, or the organisers of a race;
- post advertising or spam;
- disrupt the website, bypass security, or collect data automatically (scraping) without our permission.
6. Review, reporting and removal
A stamp only counts once a MyHalfs moderator or administrator has reviewed the proof. They are people, not an algorithm, with a special role in their account that we assign. They approve or reject a stamp; if it is rejected, you see why.
Do you see content on MyHalfs that you believe is illegal or not allowed under these terms? Report it to us using the route on the contact page. We look at every report carefully and let the person who reported it know what we do with it.
If someone does not follow these terms, we may hide or remove content, reject a stamp, or, for serious or repeated violations, temporarily block or delete an account. We do not do this lightly: we consider how serious it is, and you receive a message from us with the reason. If you disagree, email us and we will review the decision again. An order you have already paid for will still be delivered, unless its content itself breaches these terms.
To verify (V14): whether this simple reporting and appeal route meets the Digital Services Act
7. Offer and prices
At the moment we sell a digital finisher poster: a MyHalfs design with the route of your race, your name, the date and your finish time, as a PDF (to print yourself) and a PNG (to share). The offer states exactly what you get. Before you order, you see a preview with your details.
- Prices are in euros and include VAT. There are no shipping costs for a digital poster.
- An early-bird price only applies in the period stated with the offer, for example up to and including the day before the race.
- If the offer contains an obvious mistake, such as a clearly wrong price, we are not bound by it. We will let you know as soon as possible and refund any payment.
8. How an order is concluded
You choose your race, design and colour, enter your name and (if you already know it) your finish time, and check out. The contract is concluded as soon as your payment has succeeded. You then receive a confirmation by email, which also includes your choice regarding the right of withdrawal (see Right of withdrawal).
Check your details carefully in the preview, especially the name on the poster and your finish time. To verify (V13): do we check finish times in the race’s public results before making the poster?
We may refuse or cancel an order if there is a good reason, for example if the name on the poster is offensive or infringes the rights of others. You then get a full refund.
9. Payment
You pay in advance, on a secure payment page of our payment provider Stripe. The payment methods available are shown at checkout. We never see your full bank or card details.
10. Delivery of your digital poster
You receive your poster by email, with download links for the PDF and the PNG. That is the delivery: delivery starts at the moment we send you that email.
- If you order after the race (your finish time is known), you receive the email within 48 hours of your payment, usually much sooner.
- If you order before the race, we only make your poster after the race. See Pre-ordering.
- The download links work for 7 days. Expired? Use the link in the email (or in your account, if you have one) to request new download links. This is possible as long as we keep your poster files: To verify (V6): how long, proposal 12 months after delivery. So save your files yourself.
- If we cannot deliver on time, we will let you know. You may then cancel the order free of charge and get your money back within 14 days.
11. Pre-ordering
You can order a poster before the race, often at an early-bird price. On the day after the race we send you an email with a personal link to submit your finish time, and a reminder a few days later. Within 48 hours of submitting your time, you receive your poster.
If you do not submit your time? To verify (V5): what happens then; proposal: 14 days after the race we send the poster without a time
If you do not start or do not finish, see Did not start or did not finish. What happens to your right of withdrawal is explained below.
12. Right of withdrawal
When you buy online, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period: you can cancel (withdraw from) the contract without giving a reason. There are exceptions to this for our products. We also state this clearly before you pay.
Digital poster: immediate delivery
A digital poster is digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium. At checkout we ask you to expressly consent to delivery before the cooling-off period has ended, and to acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. Your consent and that acknowledgement are also included in the confirmation email of your order. Once delivery has started (we send you the email with download links), you no longer have a right of withdrawal (article 6:230p, under g, of the Dutch Civil Code). To verify (V3): may this consent be required in order to place an order?
Personalised products
For products we make specifically to your specifications, such as a printed poster or a shirt with your name and time in the future, there is no right of withdrawal (article 6:230p, under f, sub 1°, of the Dutch Civil Code). That exception applies to physical products. For the digital poster we rely on the rules for digital content above. To verify (V2): whether the exception for personalised products also applies to a digital poster; we assume it does not
Pre-ordering
If you order before the race, delivery only starts after the race, sometimes weeks after your order. So you have not received anything yet while the cooling-off period runs. To verify (V1): does the right of withdrawal then continue until delivery (option A), or does the statutory period of 14 days after the order apply (option B)? Both are below; after the decision only one remains
Option A: you can withdraw until delivery. If you ordered before the race, you can withdraw from your order without giving a reason until the moment of delivery. You then get the full amount back. As soon as we send you the email with download links, this right ends, as described above.
Option B: you can withdraw until 14 days after your order. If you ordered before the race, you can withdraw from your order without giving a reason within 14 days of the day of your order. You then get the full amount back. If delivery starts within those 14 days (because the race is shortly after your order), your right of withdrawal ends at that moment, as described above. After 14 days you can no longer withdraw; the arrangement for not starting or not finishing still applies.
How to withdraw
If you still have a right of withdrawal, send us an email at [CONTACT-EMAIL] within the period, with your order number and a statement that you withdraw from the order. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. We confirm your withdrawal by email and refund the full amount within 14 days, using the same payment method.
Model withdrawal form
(complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract)
- To [HANDELSNAAM], [ADRES], [CONTACT-EMAIL]:
- I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract of sale of the following goods (*)/for the provision of the following service (*),
- Ordered on (*)/received on (*),
- Name of consumer(s),
- Address of consumer(s),
- Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper),
- Date
(*) Delete as appropriate.
To verify (V15): have the legal references and the text of the model form checked
13. Did not start or did not finish
If you pre-ordered and do not start or do not finish the race, you have two options:
- Poster without a time (default): you get the poster with your name, the route and the date of the race, but without a finish time. You let us know via the same link you use to submit your time.
- Your money back: if you would rather not have a poster, let us know at [CONTACT-EMAIL]. You get back the full amount you paid, within 14 days of asking. To verify (V4): until when can you ask for this? Proposal: up to 30 days after the race, and as long as you have not yet received the poster without a time
If the race is cancelled or postponed? To verify (V4): what happens then, for example the same choice: poster without a time or your money back
14. If something is wrong: complaints
You are entitled to a poster that is in order and does what you may expect of it. If a file does not work, or it contains a mistake on our part (for example a name or time copied incorrectly), we will put it right free of charge within a reasonable time by delivering a corrected poster. If that is not possible, or not in time, you are entitled to a price reduction or you can terminate the contract and get your money back. To verify (V15): order of remedies for digital content (title 7.1A of the Dutch Civil Code)
- Report a problem at [CONTACT-EMAIL], with your order number. The sooner you report it, the sooner we can fix it.
- We acknowledge your complaint and respond in substance within 14 days. If that is not possible, we let you know when you can expect an answer.
- A mistake in details you entered yourself is not a defect. Do get in touch anyway; we will see together what is possible.
You can submit complaints about the platform or about a moderator’s decision in the same way.
If we cannot resolve it together, you can bring the dispute before the competent court. To verify (V9): the EU ODR platform closed on 20 July 2025, so we no longer refer to it. Confirm that no other mandatory reference (for example a disputes committee) is needed
15. Liability
We do our best to keep MyHalfs working well and securely, but cannot guarantee that the platform is always available and error-free. We compile race information (such as dates and routes) carefully, but always check important information with the race organisers.
If we are liable for damage in connection with an order, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that order. This limitation does not apply in case of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part, or where the law does not allow a limitation. To verify (V10): whether this limitation is enforceable against consumers
16. Designs and intellectual property
The designs, templates, illustrations and texts of MyHalfs are ours. Your poster is for personal use: you may print it, hang it on your wall and share it on social media. You may not resell it or use it commercially in any other way.
We draw routes ourselves based on OpenStreetMap data: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
MyHalfs is an independent platform and is not affiliated with the organisers or sponsors of the races on our website or products. On our products we do not use official event names or logos, only the city, the distance and the date. Race brands and names belong to their owners.
17. Physical products (coming later)
At the moment we only sell digital products. If we start selling printed posters or shirts, we will first add to these terms, including delivery and shipping costs, the right of withdrawal for personalised products, and warranty. To verify (V16): fill in once physical products are added
18. Privacy
We only use your data for what is described in the privacy policy: to make your account and your orders work, for our accounts and to keep the platform secure.
19. Governing law
These terms, your account and your orders are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory consumer rules of your country give you. You can bring a dispute before the competent court in the Netherlands or in the country where you live.
20. Changes
We may change these terms. An order is governed by the terms as they were on this page at the time you ordered. If the terms for your account change on an important point, we let you know by email in advance. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
